Carrie Hisatomi L.Ac. grew up with a desire to help and heal people. Her practice incorporates all aspects of Chinese Medicine, including Acupuncture, Chinese Herbal Medicine, Dietary Therapy, Qigong meditation and therapeutic Massage. Originally specializing in Gynecology and Women’s Health, she is proficient at menstrual regulation and fertility. Her practice also includes helping all aspects of internal dysfunction and pain management. This includes neck, back and hip pain, migraines, digestive problems, weight gain and depression. She uses all her resources to help each individual find solutions to come into balance.

After obtaining her Master’s Degree at the Oregon College of Oriental Medicine, she travelled to Nanjing, China, for post graduate studies at three hospitals in the Jiang Shu Province. There she saw true integrated medicine in action, with modern Western medicine working along side the traditional medicine of herbs, acupuncture and massage. This further ignited her passion to support a medical system that works in collaboration to help all people obtain their best possible health.

Carrie holds a national license to practice Chinese Herbal Medicine and along with Chinese dietary therapy can help effect great change in the body. She studied Shiatsu and Tuina massage for 3 years as part of her Master’s degree and uses massage with acupuncture to help heal the body. Meditation and visualization is added to help support individuals becoming a part of their own healing.

After starting a private practice in Portland, she moved to Maui, Hawaii, in 2007 and began serving the island community. Her practice here began with working as a Midwife’s Assistant for 4 years, helping women with fertility, pre-natal, labor management and post-partum care. She worked in family’s homes, in the office and at the hospital. Carrie is currently practicing Upcountry in Makawao and looks forward to helping you.
